Mad Max Festival October 22-24
- Mad Max Festival October 22-24

Before Mel Gibson was giving us anti-semitic rants, he was the post-apocalyptic automotive bad-ass with a Weiand blower...
October 22-24 in the Southern California desert, a three day festival is going to be held for all the fans and devout followers of the post-apocalyptic genre that surrounds the Mad Max/Road Warrior trilogy (soon to be a quadrilogy?! 4th movie on the way) and even though Max was tooling around in an Australian "other brand", you still can't deny the coolness of this event!

Pro-Hobbyist Massachusetts Street Rod and Custom Vehicle Bill Signed Into Law
- Pro-Hobbyist Massachusetts Street Rod and Custom Vehicle Bill Signed Into Law

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is a smart man because he's saving the hobby in Massachusetts at least. He just signed into law a version of SEMA model legislation (H.B. 4871) to create a vehicle registration classification for street rods, custom vehicles, replicas and specially constructed vehicles. Full Blog Inside.
The Full Press Release:
Today (Aug. 19, 2010), Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick signed into law a version of SEMA model legislation (H.B. 4871) to create a vehicle registration classification for street rods, custom vehicles, replicas and specially constructed vehicles. The new law defines a street rod as an altered vehicle manufactured before 1949 and a custom as an altered vehicle at least 25 years old and manufactured after 1948. Replica vehicles are defined as being assembled by a non-manufacturer from new or used parts that replicate an earlier year, make and model vehicle. Specially constructed vehicles are those reconstructed or assembled by a non-manufacturer from new or used parts that have an exterior that does not replicate or resemble any other manufactured vehicle. The new law allows replica vehicles to be assigned a certificate of title bearing both the year in which the vehicle was built and the make, model and year of the vehicle intended to be replicated.
On behalf of the SEMA Action Network, congratulations and thanks to all who participated in supporting this bill over the past 5 years.

Rat Rod Chevys
- Rat Rod Chevys

I've been noticing lately, the rat rod trend has been expanding beyond its usual demographic of pre-1960 cars...
The "rat rod" genre is surging in popularity, and with that, it seems people are turning to '60s Bow Ties to use for rat rods. I was just curious what our Super Chevy readers thought about the rat rod trend, and the fact that from tri-five through early '60s Chevys are being used.
What do you guys (and ladies) think of rat rods? Is there a place for them in Super Chevy?
Don't be bashful about responding!
